Gary J. Hattaway

Mr. Gary (Pokey) Hattaway age 79 of Griffin, Georgia lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at his residence.
Mr. Hattaway was born on February 2, 1941. He was the son of Will and Gertrude Hattaway of Griffin. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Minnie Madaris Hattaway. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Lamar and wife Jennie, Ray and wife Dorothy, Harold and wife Sally; brother-in-law Lawrence Beam; sisters Nellie Martin and husband Wink, Rachael Pointer and husband Gerald, and Brenda Ritchie. He retired from Borden/AEP. He loved hunting, fishing, and working in the yard.
He leaves behind his children Charles Hattaway and Linda, Rickie Ann and husband Danny Henderson; and his beloved granddaughter Amber Hattaway. He is also survived by brother Kenneth and wife Joyce; sister Helen Beam; brother-in-law Vernon Ritchie, sister-in-law Vera Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A service will take place in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 am. Reverend Ken Horton will officiate.
