Mr. Franklin Eugene “Gene” Allen, age 82, of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Brightmoor.

Mr. Allen was born in Griffin, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Y. Z. and Eula Mae Allen; his wife, Dot Allen. He was retired from May-Carter Oil Co and a member of DeVotie Baptist Church.

He is survived by children, Danny and Sherry Allen; Robbie and Tracy Allen; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Bernice Flynn, Edna Weaver, Betty Ann and Clinton Weldon, Midget Barnett; many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Gene Allen will be on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Jared Day and Reverend Tommy Reeves will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens.
