Gene Youngblood

Kenneth Eugene “Gene” Youngblood, age 102 of Griffin, Georgia, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Eternal Hope.

Mr. Youngblood was born in Griffin, Georgia on September 26, 1920. His parents, Charlie Roy Youngblood and Dellie Harper Youngblood, his wives, Hortense Anderson Youngblood, Juanita Snavley Youngblood; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby Ray and Elaine Manderson Youngblood, nephew, David Youngblood, and cousin, Dwight Youngblood, all preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II in the Pacifica Theater with the 746 AAA Gun Battalion. He retired from Ford Motor Company.   Mr. Youngblood attended the reunions with the 746 AAA for over 30 years.

He is survived by son, Kenneth Youngblood (Betty Elder), nephews, Danny and Tiffany Youngblood and family, Lerry and Jean Kilgore and family; step daughter, Loraine Martin and family; cousins, Mark and Aimee Youngblood and family, Sharon Youngblood and family, Sandra Youngblood and family, Ginger Evans and family, Carol Helms and family, Robert McKoy and family, Joe McKoy and family, Mark McKoy and family; several other nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

A visitation for Gene Youngblood will be Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral home. Reverend Ed Swelha and Reverend Sandra Fendley will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
