Gerald Wayne Richey

Gerald Wayne Richey of Griffin, Georgia was born on September 4, 1952 in Macon, Georgia. He passed away on October 12, 2019 in Fayetteville, Georgia surrounded by his family. He was 67 years of age.

He married Charlene Preston on November 5, 1971 and they had three daughters. He graduated from Walter F. George high school then worked as a mechanic and machinist before retiring. His hobbies included fishing, bowling, golf, playing the organ, and karaoke.

He is preceded in death by his father, Kyle Vernon Richey.

He is survived by his wife Charlene Richey, daughter Shawn Blanks (Brian), daughter Melissa Vernon (Jeff), daughter Amanda Dowis (Michael), mother Betty Jane Adams Richey, sister Rebecca Lynn McPherson, brother Michael Dennis Richey (Cheryl), grandchildren Tyler and Alex Bottoms, Emma, Saedlana, Jakob, Young, and Scotlyn Vernon, Owen and Ian Blanks, Rylee Dowis, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Griffin Center Point Church of God at 1427 US 41 Bypass South at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 15, 2019.
