Gloria Jean Godfrey

Mrs. Gloria Jean Godfrey, 77, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018, at Eternal Hope Hospice.
She was born in Albany, Georgia, on December 24, 1940, to the late William A. and Lacey Ricks.  She married the love of her life, Roger, on June 18, 1958 and they had two daughters, Teresa and Wendy.  Mrs. Godfrey enjoyed camping and fishing with her family and friends.  After her daughters completed their elementary education, she worked for Beck, Owen, and Murray in Griffin, Georgia.  After her retirement, she was active with family, friends, Red Hatter group, and church.  
Mrs. Godfrey is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Godfrey; parents, William A. and Lacey Ricks; and grandson, William Beasley.  
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Teresa and Bobby Booker and Wendy and Chuck Beasley; grandsons Christopher Black, John Booker and Connor Beasley; granddaughter in love Laura Baker; sisters Janice Parr and Sharon (David) Noel; and brother William A. “Billy” (Nell) Ricks, Jr.; dear friends Mike and Jan Baker; and several nieces and nephews.  
A visitation for Mrs. Godfrey will be on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.  Rev. Gene Walton and Rev. Ed Swehla will officiate.  Interment will follow at County Line United Methodist Church Cemetery.
