Gordon Thomas Smith Sr.

Gordon Thomas Smith, Sr., age 87, of Griffin, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Brightmoor Hospice.

Gordon was born in Tennessee on June 2, 1933. His parents George W. Smith and Sadie “Adelaide” Groves Smith preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He fiercely loved his wife for 65 years of marriage. He passed his knowledge down through the generations by teaching his passions of ham radio operation, target shooting, fishing, and water skiing. He is greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie Smith; children, Ken (Brenda) Smith, Patricia Smith and Gordon, Jr (Gail) Smith; grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Horton, Jessica (Justin) Dunn, Danielle Smith, Hannah Smith and Ben Smith; great-grandchildren, Tripp Dunn, Ivey Dunn and Esme Horton.

A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
