Grady “Woody” Turner, age 69 of Locust Grove, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018.

Mr. Turner was born in Atlanta on July 22, 1948. He is preceded in death by his son, Bradley; parents, Clarence and Ruth Turner; brothers, Chuck Turner, Joe Turner, Paul Turner, Frank Turner; and sister, Pat Kirby. Woody was a Veteran of the United States Army having served for 13 years. He worked for the Atlanta Police Department for over 5 years. He also ministered through his music singing at churches and giving his testimony. Woody traveled throughout Atlanta playing bass and singing in bands. He was an outgoing person and loved his family.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis “Elaine” Turner; son, Bryan Turner of Locust Grove; brother, Samuel B. Turner and wife, Patsy of Hazlehurst, GA; sister, Jean Fowler of Griffin.

A visitation for Grady “Woody” Turner will be Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Greg Marsh will officiate.
