Mr. Harold William Bivens, age 89, of Griffin passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Westbury Medical Care in Jackson.

Mr. Bivens was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 22, 1927. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Earl Bivens Sr., and Mary Jewel Helton Bivens; daughter, Cindy Antizzo; sisters, Dorothy Pilgrim, Margaret Eloise Adams, Louise Farlow; brother, Walter Earl Bivens, Jr. Harold served in the United States Coast Guard and was retired from Ford Motor Company. He loved his family, loved to watch Dale Earnhardt race, and just enjoyed nascar races in general, and he enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves play.

He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Brock Bivens; daughters, Rita Hembree, Nita Thornton, Becky Smith and husband Shane, Lisa Spradley, Carol Lewis and husband Ronald; sons, Hal Bivens and wife Norah, Jerry Bivens, Wayne Wallace; sister, Carolyn Burns Molitor ;son in law, Paul Antizzo; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Harold William Bivens will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Baptist Church with Reverend John Nance and Reverend Jim Cannady officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mr. Harold William Bivens to Oak Hill Baptist Church, 100 Lakeside Drive, Williamson, Georgia 30292.
