Hazel Smith Conkle

Mrs. Hazel M. Conkle age 80 of Griffin passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2020.

Mrs. Conkle was born October 2, 1939 in Griffin to the late Charlie and Mary Smith. She is preceded in death by sisters Betty Jean Morgan, Gloria McGahee, Annie Ruth Lewis, Frances Eppinger; brother Jimmy Smith; son Michael Polk; nephews Tony Wayne Lewis and John Rape. Mrs. Conkle retired from NEC McDonough and from Caterpillar at the age of 73. Hazel was a member of Living Waters Church in Griffin, Georgia.

Survivors include her husband of 39 years Danny Conkle; children and their spouses Scott and Nancy Smith of Griffin, Tommy Polk of Henry County, Chad and Julie Conkle of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Chris and Cody Smith, Devan Taylor and Bailey Polk, Shelby, Skylar, Brayden, Mya Conkle and Carson Hawk; sister Kathy Grant; great-grandchildren Landon, Tinslee and Leyla Smith, Ava and Anniston Pepples; nieces and nephews Sherrie and Ronnie Cochran, Alisa and Norman Middlebrooks, Terry Lewis, Kenny Lewis, Brandon Batton, Frankie and Carol Smith, Dudley and Pam McLean, Dereak and Danielle Eppinger.

A visitation will be on Monday, June 22, 2020 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury funeral Home. Reverend Riley Fenley and Reverend Don Sansbury will officiate. Interment will follow at Westwood Gardens.
