Helen Mary Gordon

Helen Mary Gordon, age 91 of Weaverville, North Carolina, was taken home by the angels on December 1, 2018. Helen was born in Houston, Texas and raised their family in Florida. She later lived her retirement years in North Carolina. 

Helen is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Cloyce F. Gordon, Jr.; parents, Frank and Anna Fletcher; sister, Barbara; brother in law’s Ernest Popelka and Harry Krolczyk. 

She is survived by her daughter, Carol (David) Dunkelberger; son’s, Cloyce F. (Carol) Gordon, III and Robert A. (Mary) Gordon; grandchildren who she loved dearly, Karl (Kimberly) Dunkelberger, Leigh Dunkelberger, Charles (Lynda) Gordon, Joseph (Tereza) Gordon, Jennifer Goins, James Gordon and Crystal (Erik) Freeburg; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Popelka and Mickey Krolczyk; brother’s, John (Sally) Fletcher, Jerome (Rose) Fletcher, Jim (Cathy) Fletcher and Joe (Carol) Fletcher.  

A memorial service will be conducted at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 962 Old U.S. Hwy #70 West, Black Mountain, NC on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to a local veterans organization or a charity of your choice.
