Mr. Henry Lewis Duncan of Jackson, Georgia passed away in his 87th year on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Brightmoor Hospice.
Lou was born in Gainesville, Florida on October 16, 1931. He is preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Banks Duncan and Reba Kindred Duncan; sister, Barbara Duncan Maddox; brother, Robert Duncan. Lou served his country in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954. After serving in the military he and his wife Irene moved to Georgia in 1955 to pursue a career in the Federal Aviation Administration as a Radar Technician where he retired in 1987.
Lou was a HAM radio operator, and his call letters were K4MNY, he was a blue grass musician, both of which he enjoyed greatly. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great friend.
Survivors include, his wife, Irene Hill Duncan; sons, Craig Duncan, Lynn Duncan; daughter, Virginia and Donald Tinsley; grandchildren, Maxwell and Brooke Duncan, Travis Schluter, Tiffany and Austin Collier, Julie Duncan; great grandchildren, Kagen Bailey, Everett Duncan, Madalyn Tudor-Duncan, Graham Bond, Paislee Collier, Beau Collier; nieces, Sharon Dalton and Dianne Parker.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be conducted in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Dr. Benny Tate and Dr. Ron Johnson will officiate.
