Mr. Howard Allan O’Keefe, age 71 of Thomaston, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019.
Mr. O’Keefe was born on July 1, 1947 in Evergreen Park, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dorothy Englin O’Keefe. He was a former Glenwood, Illinois Volunteer Fire Fighter for 10 years, a Police Officer for the Flossmoor Illinois Police Department for 13 years, worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for 8 years, and retired from the Chicago, Illinois V.A. as a Federal Police Officer. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, golf, fishing and camping. He was a member of Woodbury Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie O’ Keefe; children, Dawn O’Keefe, Jennifer Hernandez, Ryan O’Keefe, Katie Gardner, Ryan Schultz and wife Janice, Chris Schultz and wife Kristine, Katie Stitcher and husband Mike; 21 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lauren O’Keefe, Carol Candell; several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, with a funeral service following in the Chapel. Dr. Ron Johnson will officiate.
Additional services for Mr. O’Keefe, will include a visitation on Friday, July 5, 2019 beginning at 11:30 am, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm at Smits Deyoung Vroegh Funeral Home; 649 E. 162nd Street, South Holland, Illinois Interment will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
