Hugh Douglas "Doug" Hay

Mr. Hugh Douglas “Doug” Hay, age 79 of Conyers, Georgia passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 at his residence.

Doug was born in Douglasville, Georgia on January 18, 1944. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Paul Hay, and Willie Gladys Deal Hay; sister, Louise Thompson; nephew, Taylor Thompson; brother-in-law, Virgil Thompson, Sr. He served his country in the United States Army as a medic. Doug was retired from A-1 Hydraulics as a machinist.

Doug loved spending time with his family and had a passion for people. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing to Elvis Presley, Hank Williams Sr. and many other musical artists. He loved working on cars, playing cards, watching Svengoolie shows, playing pitch to show off his curve & split balls and good southern cooking.

Survivors include his three nieces, Denel (Dennis) James, Phyliss (Andy) Milner, Paula (David) Lyons; aunt, Belle Deal; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow in the chapel of Conner-Westbury. Reverend Denel James will officiate.
