Mr. Jacob Newton Womack, age 88 of Griffin passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Pruitt Health Care in Forsyth, Georgia, after a brief illness.
Mr. Womack was born October 31, 1930 in Griffin, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his wife and the love of his life Magdalene Hudgins Womack; his parents, Fletcher R. Womack and Essie Skipper Womack; sons-in-law, Larry Fouts and Graves Adams. Mr. Womack served with the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War. He retired from Dundee Mills after many years of service. He was a talented musician, artist and loved to work in the garden.
Survivors include his children, Donna Fouts and boyfriend David Burek, Ivy Adams and boyfriend Joe Mims, Kellie Womack and Robert Womack; grandchildren, Jamie Fox and wife Krysten, Dusty Adams and wife Danielle, Charlie Fouts and girlfriend Alisha Butler, Matt Fouts and wife Amber, Jeremy Dye, Justin Dye, Adam Womack, Ashley Ervin and husband Brad; great-grandchildren Rosie Fouts, Jacob Fouts, Eli Fouts, Elizabeth Fouts, Savanna Tucker, Baylnn Merritt, DaKota Fox, Sarah Adams, Charlie Adams, Olivia Ervin, Hunter Ervin, Aden Womack and Cameron Dye; special sisters-in-law, Evelyn Hudgins Tate and husband Mike, Mary Johnson; former daughter-in-law Teresa Jones; many nieces, nephews, friends and his special fur baby “Geddy.”
A visitation for Mr. Womack will be Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, with a memorial service following in the Chapel. Reverend Mike Tate will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice in memory of Jacob.
