Dr James Emmanuel Askew

Dr. James Emmanuel Askew age 61 of Griffin, passed away on August 1, 2019.

Dr. James Askew was born August 23, 1957 in Ahoskie, North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Askew and Lether Webb Askew; granddaughter, Sariah Askew; siblings, Betty Watson, Minnie Watson, and Marion Askew. Dr. Askew was a loving father and grandfather. He was a counselor who traveled all around the world to different Armed Forces bases. His heart was to make a difference in people’s lives and he was a member of First Assembly of God.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Clifton James Askew (Ashleigh), Montre Jermaine Askew (Tawanna) and James Isaac Askew; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Isabella, Trinity, Madison, and Mekenzie; siblings, Lether Askew, William Askew, Joe Askew, Barbara Yarbrough, Ronnie Askew, Tracy Askew, Sharron Askew and Keevin Askew; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation for Dr. James E. Askew will be Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at First Assembly of God in Griffin, Georgia. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be conducted at First Assembly at 11:00 am. Dr. Randy Valimont will officiate.

Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 W. McIntosh Road, Griffin is in charge of the arrangements.

Dr. James Emmanuel Askew final resting place will be at Wilder’s Cemetery, 816 Commerce Street, Aulander, North Carolina 27805.
