James Robert Brooker

Mr. James Robert Brooker age 72, of Griffin, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Brightmoor Nursing Center.

Robert was born in Winokur, Georgia on September 22, 1947. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Brooker and Dorothy Carter Thrift. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was owner and operator of Brooker Paving for over 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Collins; son, Robbie Brooker, wife Heather and granddaughter Sophia. Chris Chesser and granddaughters Isabella and Chloe. Scott Chesser and grandsons Alex and Clay; brothers, Lamar Brooker, wife Mi, Tony Thrift; sister, Sherry Thrift Sharpe; brother-in-law, Kenneth Collins; many special nieces and nephews, including Sierra Sharpe Daniels and Kim Collins Daniels; special friend and right-hand man, Larry Washington who worked with Robert for more than 40 years.

A graveside memorial service will be Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 1:00 at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family following the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Rock Springs Christian Academy for the construction of their new softball field in honor of Robert.
