James Hunter Daniel

James Hunter Daniel age 92 of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023.  He was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia on October 6, 1931.  Jimmy was the son of William Lester Daniel and Alda Nora Hunter Daniel. 

Jimmy was a member of Devotie Baptist Church, in Griffin.  He graduated from Fitzgerald High School, and was in the Printing Business in Fitzgerald with his father prior to joining the United States Air Force.  Jimmy served during the Korean Conflict.   While in the service, he attended Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, MO, and served on Eniwetok Atoll, Marshall Islands during the first H-Bomb Testing.  Upon Honorable Discharge from USAF, he went into the Insurance Business, where he remained for over 35 years, most of those years were in management.

Jimmy was a big University of Georgia “Bulldog” fan for years and was a member and supporter of the Georgia Bulldog Club for many years.  He loved the “DAWGS”. 

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Charlotte Smoak Daniel, whom he married on October 3, 1997; three much loved daughters, Angie Webster, Sherri Palmer and her husband, John, Sheila Marion and her husband, Robbie; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 3150 Lawrenceville Hwy., Tucker, Georgia 30084.
