James Roy "Gene" Fowler

Mr. James “Gene” Roy Fowler, age 89, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at his residence.
Gene was born in Social Circle, Georgia, on October 16, 1930. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lummie LeRoy Fowler and Eula Inez Pilgrim Fowler; sister, Mary Lou Chambley; brothers, Ray Fowler and Larry Fowler. Gene was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for Dundee Mills for many years having retired from the Lowell Bleachery in 1995. He and his wife, Warnell, attended North Griffin Congregational Holiness Church. He loved his family, watching westerns, and collecting guns.
Survivors include his wife, Ludie “Warnell” Grant Fowler; children, Deborah Fowler Druce and husband Tim, James Richard “Ricky” Fowler, Danny Fowler and wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Hunter Fowler, Joshua Druce and wife Kayla; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Edna Adams and Margie Brannon; and brother, Eddie Fowler.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Conner-Westbury. Pastor Gene Luke and Pastor Mike Barnes will officiate.
