Mr. James Norman “Jim” Hughes age 84 of Griffin, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Brightmoor Hospice.
Mr. Hughes was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 1, 1935. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Bobbie W. Hughes; father and mother of his heart, Marion and Elise Hughes, mother, Dorothea F. Keenan; son-in-law, Tony Crews, Sr.; brother, Butch Doering. Mr. Hughes retired from Mead Corporation after 33 years, after his retirement he worked at Southern State for 11 year. He was a member of the Church of Joy.
Mr. Hughes is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Nancy Hughes, Mark and Pam Hughes; daughter, Jill Crews; grandchildren, Matt Hughes and wife, Amanda, Joshua Hughes and wife, Eryn, Trea Bailey, Lauren McGee and husband, Parker, Brandon Bailey, Justin Hughes, Jimmy Hughes and wife, Kristen; great grandchildren, Hunter Hughes, Elijah Hughes, Miriam McGee, Rebekah McGee; brother, Duane Hughes; sisters, Suzanne Keenan and Judy Weaver of Michigan; sister-in-law, Carole Sutton; several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Followed by a funeral service in the chapel. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens.
