James Neill Walter

James Neill Walter, age 69, of Griffin passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Wellstar Spalding Hospital.

James was born in Albany, Georgia on January 13, 1952. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim Walter and Mary Mitchell Tondee; wife, Marianne Walter; son, Michael Walter; brother, Claude Walter. James hobbies included dancing, camping, traveling, taking the boat out on the lake and watching the sunrise while having a warm cup of coffee. He loved his family and dogs.

Survivors include, his children, David (Elizabeth) Walter and Melissalynn (John) Calcaterra; grandchildren, Preston, Madison, Chase, Emily, Megan, Jacob, Isaac, Garrett, Jonathan, Abigail and Syndey; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

A visitation will be on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation the funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Brian Bentley will officiate. Interment will follow at the Rock Methodist Church Cemetery.
