Jean Worthy Reid

Mrs. Jean Worthy Reid age 85 of Griffin passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020. 

Mrs. Reid was born April 16, 1935 in Griffin, the oldest of four children. Mrs. Reid is preceded in death by parents, John Wesley Worthy and Effie Mae Wyatt Worthy, her husband, former Spalding County Commissioner, Gary Reid, and a grandson, Shane Hayes Hackbart. Mrs. Reid was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, a 1953 graduate of Fairmont High School where she served as head drum majorette. She was retired from Brightmoor Nursing Center.
 
Survivors include daughter, Elizabeth Gail Reid Hackbart; son, Gary Wesley Reid, Sr.; grandchildren, Gary Wesley Reid, Jr., Nlya Okera Reid, Shara Reid Hackbart; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
 
Visitation will be Sunday, June 21, 2020 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be Monday, June 22, 2020 at 1:00 pm in the chapel. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Due to restrictions visitation and the funeral service will be limited. The family requests that all visitors observe social distancing and wear face masks. The services will be available for those wishing to watch online.
