Jenny Godby

Mrs. Jenny Gunndhildur Arnadottir Godby, age 75, of Griffin passed away, Sunday, November 8, 2020 at WellStar Spalding Hospital.

Mrs. Godby was born in Seydisfjordur, Iceland on August 6, 1945. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arni Vilhjalmur Jonsson and Steinunn Hallgrimsdittir; her husband, Jim D. Godby; daughter, Michelle Openshaw. She was retired from Clayton University, member of Rock Springs Church, and was very active in her Sun City Community.

She is survived by daughter Kristin Johnson and husband, Chuck; granddaughters, Brittany Godby, Kala Rechy and Amber Rechy; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Damon and Landon; sister, Halla Maria Arnadottir and husband, Trlyggvi; brother, Jon Arnason; sister-in-law, Margaret Rigsby and husband, Jim; brother-in-law, John Godby; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 5:00 pm with Dr. Benny Tate officiating. Interment will be in Georgia National Cemetery, Canton Georgia. In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Rock Springs Church.
