Jesse Lee Marshall, age 67, of Sunny Side, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

Mr. Marshall was born in Williamson, Georgia on December 28, 1950. He is preceded in death by his father, Herman Lucier, Sr., and Viola Lucier; James Williams; brother, Eric Williams.

Mr. Marshall was a 1968 graduate of Pike County Consolidated High School. He was the owner and operator of Marshall’s Transfer. Mr. Marshall was the founder and Bishop of Cross to Life Ministries. He was well-known by many, loved by many, and helpful to many people in the Griffin community.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ollie M. Williams; children, Janza (Brian) Bonsu, daughter of Cora (David) Morris, Jessica Marshall, Emilee Marshall, Jawanda Marshall, Crystal Ray, and Christopher Ray Jr., children of Lawanda Marshall Coggins; siblings, Marion Marshall, Mary (Willie) Miller, Rev. Kenneth (Yvonne) Marshall, Herman Lucier Jr., Sandra Marshall, Mary Marshall, Carol (Melvin) Mobley, Phyllis Lucier (Eugene), Bennie Marshall (Tammy), Donna (Monique) Murphy, Shelia Williams and Robin (Donald) Watts; grandchildren, Brian, Jada, Bailee, Blake, Yakira, Markenda, Cartavious, Xavier, Darius and Jaden; uncles and aunts, Alvin and Marjorie Orr, Lourdes Lucier, Merriam Lucier; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins that he loved and cherished.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11:00 am at Griffin First Assembly, 2000 W. McIntosh Road, Griffin. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will assemble at Conner Westbury Funeral Home at 10:15 Saturday morning.

The family would like to extend special thanks to WellStar Spalding Regional Hospital and WellStar Kennestone Hospital for the exceptional care given to Jesse during his illness. Also, special thanks to Griffin First Assembly, family and friends for love shown during this time.
