Jimmy Scott

April 28, 1948 ~ September 11, 2021 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Tribute

James “Jimmy” Lawrence Scott, 73, was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend, that was loved by so many and will be missed dearly. He passed on Sept. 11, with family surrounding him with love. He dedicated his life to love, provide and to protect his family. His passion was for old cars, hanging out with his buddies, going to car shows and enjoying his beautiful home and land in Pike County.

Jimmy was born in Griffin, GA on April 28, 1948, and raised in Sunnyside. He married the love of his life, Jean in 1968. He joined Ford Motor Company in ’68 and was drafted in the Army in ’69. Jimmy had two daughters that he dedicated to protecting. He worked hard to provide for his family. Jimmy retired from Ford and did what he loved … working on his old cars and helping others. He was a great and special man to so many, his heart was so big and never meet a stranger. He was a member of Christ Chapel in Zebulon, GA. His favorite quotes were “Scott’s are tough” when it came to his girls; “Finer than a frog hair”, “I feel with my fingers, how do you think I feel” when you asked him how he felt.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean Scott, his daughters, Donna Cantlay (Husband: Darren) and Sky Gunter (Fiancé: Zachary Slagle); Grandchildren, Kaimen, Tanner, Abigail, Kierra, and Adalyn; Step grandchildren, Nicholas Gunter, Laurel and Preston Slagle; Sister, Peggy Bonner (Charles); Nephews, Hugh Stansell, Craig Scott, and Chuck Bonner; Nieces, Regina Langston and Tracey Bonner; family and friends too numerous to list but not forgotten.
Jimmy is reunited with his mother, Ida Dale Anderson Harris (Stepfather, Lee Harris), Father, Chester B Scott; Brother, Charles Scott; Grand-daughter, Lily Gunter.
