John R. Lindsey III

John R. Lindsey III, age 81 of Griffin passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Eternal Hope Hospice.

John was born in Griffin, Georgia on October 2, 1940. His parents, John R. Lindsey II and Mary McKibben Lindsey and son, John Scott Lindsey, precede him in death.

John served proudly in the National Guard and was a member of VFW Post #5448. He retired as owner of John Lindsey Construction Company in Griffin after 28 years during which time he was recipient of a Builder of the Year award. John was a member of First Baptist Church and an animal lover who enjoyed playing pool and throwing darts with his friends at the VFW and the Griffin Moose Lodge #1503 where he was a lifetime member.

Survivors include his daughter, Laura Lindsey Long (Pat); grandchildren, Brittany Lane, Taylor Long, Lindsey Long May (Jack); great grandchildren, Chloe Lane, Rileigh Lane, Rowland May, Dalton May; siblings, Frank Lindsey (Susan) and Theo Lindsey Wilkie; nieces, Mary, Suzanne, Allison, Kate and nephew, Michael.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, May 7, 2022 in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pastor Steven Norris will officiate.
