Tribute

John Thomas Sherwood, age 89 of Griffin, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Brightmoor Hospice.

Mr. Sherwood was born in McDonough, Georgia on June 27, 1930. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Harvey Sherwood and Janie King Sherwood, daughters, Cynthia and Janice Sherwood. He was one of the last cowboy’s and loved to ride horses and be outdoors.

Survivors include; special friend and companion, Gena Ford; son, Jamey Lee Sherwood; grandson, Cody Tuggle; sisters, Elizabeth Garrett and Martha Barnes; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for John Sherwood will be Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Conner-Westbury. Reverend Ken Horton will officiate. Interment will follow at Eagle’s Landing Baptist Church Cemetery (Teamon Baptist Cemetery).
