Judith Chadick “Judy” Maddox, age 76, of Griffin, GA, died Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

She was born in Memphis, TN to the late Robert Watson and Margaret Cole Chadick; and was the wife of the late Robert E. “Bobby” Maddox.

Mrs. Maddox is survived by her daughter, Christy (Bill) Ward, Griffin, GA; grandson, William (Bailey) Ward, Smyrna, GA; Granddaughter, Meg Ward, Marietta, GA; great-granddaughter, Maddox Klare Ward, Smyrna, GA; sister-in-law, Kay Maddox, Monticello, GA; several cousins, nephews and nieces; and her loyal companions, Ripley, Chewy and Sasha.

Judy was an avid horsewoman and enjoy riding her horses.
She competed in many dressage events and enjoyed participating in horse shows.
In December of 2000, she suffered a tragic fall while trail riding. The fall resulted in the amputation of her right arm. Her strength and determination helped her overcome this terrible event and she was back in the saddle in no time.
Judy continued to ride for many more years with just one arm.
She never let her disability get in the way of living a normal life and approached everything with a can-do attitude.
She was an excellent bowler and participated in many leagues, bowling individually and on teams.
In March of 1985, she scored a near perfect game of 279, the record at the Griffin Bowling Alley for years.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Griffin Area Resource Center, an organization that supports people with developmental disabilities, at 931 Hamilton Blvd., Griffin, GA 30224.
