Katie Simmons

Mrs. Katie L. Simmons, age 82 of Griffin, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Westbury Health and Rehabilitation in McDonough, Georgia.  

Mrs. Simmons was born on February 21, 1936 in Griffin, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents, George True Lassiter and Ruby Noel Lassiter. She and her husband would have  been married for 66 years in December. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and dedicated to her husband during his years in Ministry. She is a member of DeVotie Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Simmons is survived by her husband of 65 years, Reverend Ralph Simmons; children and spouses, Steve and Doreen Simmons, Lori and Paul Babb, Kerin and John Thompson; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Katie Simmons will be Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be conducted in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury.  Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to DeVotie Baptist Church, 1355 Experiment Street 
Griffin, GA 30223.
