Mr. LeRoy McPherson, age 92 of Brooks, Georgia passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Heritage Inn Nursing Home in Barnesville.

Mr. McPherson was born on February 1, 1925 in Cherokee County, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Belton McPherson and Louise Jordan McPherson; wife, Mattie Cavender McPherson, infant daughter, Vivian McPherson; sisters, Anne Maddox, Estelle Shirley, Pearl Lowery, Susie Lifsey, Jewell Varnadoe, Lois Mullis. Mr. McPherson loved playing his guitar, and was one of the first pioneers of the Williamson Music Barn. In November of 2016 he was inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Lacy and Sheila McPherson of Barnesville; grandchildren, Patti Russell, Emery Jackson, Rhonda and Joe Davis, Lacy McPherson, Jr. and wife Charlene, Dusty McPherson; 11 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; brother, Grady McPherson of Barnesville; extended family, Penny and Randy Cole, Tony McPherson; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Mr. LeRoy McPherson will be on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a Funeral service will be conducted in the Chapel with Reverend Gene Walton officiating.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Heritage Inn Nursing Home for the great care they provided to their dad.
