Leonard "Buddy" Akin

Mr. Leonard “Buddy” Akin, age 77 of Griffin, Georgia passed away, Thursday, October 24, 2019 at WellStar Spalding Hospital.

Mr. Akin was born in Griffin, Georgia on November 1, 1941. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam Akin and Chester Brown Akin and his brother, Joe Akin. He was employed at Kawneer Aluminum as a Lead Man and retired after 35 years of service.

Survivors include his children; Dan Akin, Cherree Womack, Marie Chadwick and husband, Shon, grandchildren; Jessica Duffey and husband, Andrew, Jennifer Rice and husband, Josh, Ryan Chadwick, Kayden Chadwick and Aubreigh Brown, great grandchildren; Jackson Duffey, Cohen Duffey, Corbin Rice and Maelin Rice; sister, Cynthia Crawley and husband, Eugene.

A visitation for Leonard “Buddy” Akin will be Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday, October 28 at 4:00pm in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Pastor Keith Ford will officiate.
