Lester Eugene Mooney, age 84 of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Brightmoor Hospice.
Lester was born in Jacksonville, Florida on June 1, 1939. His parents, Jesse Mooney and Evie Mooney; wife, Beulah Thompson Mooney; siblings, Ethel Mooney Martin and Elmer Mooney; stepdaughter, Cricket Sheets all preceded him in death. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Survivors include daughter, Evie Lynn Mooney Smith; stepson, Alvin “Spudd” Sheets; sister, Glennie Mae Mooney; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
