Linda Peters Caldwell

Mrs. Linda Peters Caldwell, age 77 of Griffin, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Eternal Hope Hospice surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Caldwell was born on March 25, 1941 in Waycross, Georgia to the late George Bernard Peters and Myrtice Stephens Peters. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Pam Peters Ellison; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Caldwell. After graduating high school, she attended Truett- McConnell from 1960-1961and finished up her education at Tift college from 1962-1963. She has been in the education field since graduating from college, having taught at Henry County High School for 3 years, Clayton County High School for 2 years, Manchester High School for 2 years, 1 year at Gainesville High School and 7 years at Pike County High School. She finished her career teaching for 33 years with First Baptist Church (Griffin) Kindergarten Weekday Program. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Griffin for over 35 years, where she attended the Copeland Sunday School Class. 

Mrs. Caldwell is survived by her husband, Bobby Caldwell; sons, Matthew Caldwell, Brent Caldwell and wife, Dyan; sister, Phyllis Waldrep; uncle, Tom W. Stephens; brother-in-law, Bishop L. Ellison; special friends, Dr. and Mrs. Earl Golightly, Carrah and Curran Golightly, Chris Carroll, and Faye Shockley; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Griffin, with a funeral service immediately following in the Sanctuary. Interment will be at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Zebulon, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be made to either First Baptist Church Weekday Program, P. O. box 908, Griffin, Georgia 30224 or Eternal Hope Hospice, 123 N. 18th Street, Griffin, Georgia 30223.
