Linda Carol Powell

Mrs. Linda Carol Mathis Powell, age 76 of Griffin, Georgia passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 at her residence.

Linda was born in Fulton County, Georgia on February 6, 1944. She is preceded in death by her parents Leonard Mathis and Jewell Marie Parker Mathis; brother, Wayne Brown. She owned and operated Powell’s Alterations and made large contributions to Compassionate Hearts at Rock Springs where she was a devout member. Mrs. Powell loved the outdoors and gardening.

Survivors include husband Terry Powell; daughter Cheryl Bradley; sons Robert Powell and wife, Jennifer, Scott Powell and wife, Lisa; grandchildren Richie Powell, Dallas Powell, Ashley Powell, David Knight, Jenna Powell, Hope Powell; great grandchildren Lily Powell and Mary Jane Powell; sister, Diane Bargo and husband Eric, brother, Larry Brown and wife, Ann; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, June 5, 2020 at 2:00 pm. in the sanctuary of Rock Springs church. Dr. Benny Tate will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the “Compassionate Hearts” at Rock Springs Church.
