Margaret Lucille Vinson Green, age 90, passed away peacefully Friday, April 23, 2021.
Lucille was born in Scaly Mountain, North Carolina on April 21, 1931 to Pearl Dowdle Vinson and Fred Vinson. In 1954 she married her sweetheart, Rev. Furman Nelson Green. She had a deep Christian faith and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. After an early career with Bell South, she dedicated her time to raising her family and partnering in ministry with her husband, serving several Church of God congregations throughout Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, Furman, her son Tom Green, and siblings, Wenona Vinson, Jessie Roberts, Katherine Vinson, Aletha LaCount, Bennie Vinson, Don Vinson, Fritz Vinson, Evelue Vinson and Betty Dewberry.
She is survived by her children, Carol (Ted) Cannon, Kathy (Duane) Fulton, Bill (Twyla) Green and Diane (Robert) Ellicott; grandchildren, Greg Cannon, Wayne Cannon, Valerie Jackson, Bryce Fulton, Natalie Engelman, Jon Green, Mary Beth Green, Jennifer Green, Ryan Ellicott, and Justin Flynn; siblings, Selma Green and Wilton Vinson; eleven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family.
A graveside service for Lucille Green will be held at a later date.
