M. Leon Smith

Mr. Melvin Leon Smith age 78 of Griffin, Georgia passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 at his residence.
Leon was born in Griffin, Georgia on May 12, 1942. His parents Aaron Zenas Smith and Melba Dorton Smith along with several siblings preceded him in death. Leon retired from Signal Mill.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Shirley S. Smith; daughter, Tammy Brown and husband, Michael; sons, Madison Leon Smith, Gary Allen Smith and wife, Angie; grandchildren, Larson Griffith and husband, Rusty, Leyah Childress and husband, Josh, Hannah Leigh Smith, Maverick Allen Smith, Madeline Rae Smith; great grandchildren, Michael Ryan Childress, Judah Kane Griffith; brothers, Rischard Smith, Dorton Smith; sister, Glenda Ward; many nieces, nephews and other family members.
It was Leon’s request for cremation and that family gathering be held.
