Mrs. Marie Taylor Pyron, age 78, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Eternal Hope Hospice.
Mrs. Pyron was born in Griffin, Georgia on February 8, 1941. She is preceded in death by her parents, Levy Taylor and Leila Baker Taylor; brothers, Raymond Taylor, Robert Taylor; sister, Catherine Taylor. She played basketball in High School for Fairmont High. Mrs. Pyron received a degree in Nursing in 1965 and practiced this profession for 30 years. After she retired from nursing, she started a new career as a Social Worker for The Griffin Spalding County Division of Family and Children Services where she worked until her retirement. She was a member of Women In Focus Social and Savings Club, a member of Greeter Ministry at the Eighth Street Baptist Church and loved fishing and reading.
Survivors include her children, A.J. Hughley and wife Kyong, Ann Hughley, Ronald C. Pyron, Deborah Pyron Bohannon, Satina Pyron, Don Ameche Pyron, Lesia Pyron, Aletha Pyron; sister, Lizzie Jordan; brother, Levy Taylor; grandchildren, Ashley Hughley, Chante Hughley, Angelo Hughley, Brandon Hughley, Kayla Hickman, Ryteria Lovott, Afrikka Pyron; great-grandchild, Alayah Robinson;
God- sister, Lillie Bogan; best friend, Rosa Reeves; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Marie Taylor Pyron will be on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Eighth Street Baptist Church with Reverend Antoine Lucas officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
