Marion Louise Thacker

Marion Louise Thacker, age 95 of Griffin passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 surrounded by her family.

Marion was born on July 10, 1927 in Griffin, Georgia to the late Henry “H.O.” and Mary Lee Huckaby. Her sister, Mildred H. Martin, and brothers, Eugene Huckaby, Emory Huckaby, Henry Huckaby, Jr., Richard Huckaby, and Bobby Huckaby, also preceded her in death. Marion retired from Springs Industries, formerly known as Dundee Mills, in 2001. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Arnold, Jr. and Marylee Thacker; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jimmie Rainey; grandchildren, Gina Morris and fiancé John Bailey, James and Amy Rainey, Alyssa and Blake Hately, Christal and Eric South, Angel and Eric Eppley; great grandchildren, Brittany and Chris Zubia (Brayden and Ashe), Cameron Vanzant, Cason Vanzant and Callie (Connor and Elaina), Brandon Rainey, and Jacob Rainey.

Visitation for Marion will be on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the Chapel officiated by Reverend Brandon Foottit. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
