Anne Maddox Snell

Mrs. Anne Snell age 91 of Griffin, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Eternal Hope Hospice.

Mrs. Snell was born in Rockledge, Georgia on February 12, 1930. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira F. Maddox, Sr. and Lillian Crawford Maddox; husband, J. Rex Snell; brother, Ira F. Maddox. Jr.  Mrs. Snell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She was an avid Bridge player who enjoyed quilting, sewing, and cooking for others.  Mrs. Snell was a beautician and owned several shops in the area which included Anne’s Beauty and Styling Salon in Griffin.  She was a past president and charter member of the ABCettes.  Mr. and Mrs. Snell were members and supporters of Griffin American Business Club.  Mrs. Snell was a longtime and active member of Orchard Hill Baptist Church.  

Survivors include children, Connie Chandler (Darryal) and Jackie Maddox Snell; grandchildren, Bryan Chandler (Jennifer Shepherd), Scott Chandler, Stephanie West, Natalie Snell; great-grandchildren, Elisabeth Chandler, Lauryn Chandler, Cameron Chandler, Caleb Chandler, Brady Chandler, Nathaniel Roberts, Jayden Barnett and Lucas West; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Mrs. Snell will be Friday, January 7, 2022 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm in the Chapel. Reverend Frank Winfrey will officiate. Interment will follow at Westwood Gardens.
