Mary Elizabeth Maddox

Mary Elizabeth Maddox, age 69 of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Wellstar Spalding Hospital.
Mary was born in Griffin on June 11, 1953. Her parents, Jesse Maddox and Velma Hunnicutt Maddox; daughter, Jessica; brother, Mike Maddox all precede her in death. Mary was one of the most unique people on earth. She walked through life with a special kind of charisma. Mary’s sense of humor, quick wit, brutal honesty, and strong right hook were but a few of her finest qualities. If you ever tasted her cooking, you would not turn down one of her meal invites. Those homemade biscuits were only (a close) second to her momma’s. Mary will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Dannee Wiley, Brittney (Mike) Holloway, Erica Fisher, Joseph Peek, Jordan Peek; grandchildren, DJ Fisher, Olivia Wiley, Caleb Wiley, Zamaria Woodard, Elijah Woodard, Jaxson Woodard, Brilee Holloway; brothers, Miles (Katy) Maddox, Brian (Patsy) Maddox; sister in law, Dale Maddox; her “forever” mother in law, Helen Wiley;  several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Mary Elizabeth Maddox will be held by the family at a later date.
