Mary "Lynn" Pack Spencer

July 31, 1944 ~ March 10, 2023 (age 78) 78 Years Old

Tribute

On March 10, 2023, we lost Mrs. Mary Lynn Pack Spencer, known to most as Lynn, a devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend. Her parents, T-Sgt. Lawrence Harold Pack and Marilyn Sikes Pack Lamb, her brother, Cpl. Donald Carol Lamb, Jr., and her husband, Edwin Harrison Spencer, Jr., precede her in death.
Lynn was born in Statesboro, Georgia on July 31, 1944.  Lynn was raised in Savannah,  then moved to Atlanta after marrying her husband, Ted Spencer.  After her children were born they moved to Jacksonville, Florida and spent many wonderful years there raising their children and attending Fort Caroline Presbyterian Church where they had numerous friends.  After Lynn retired from a long career as a Reading Recovery Specialist with the Duval County School System, she and Ted moved to Griffin, Georgia to be near their daughter.

Lynn loved spending time with friends and family. In Jacksonville, some of her closest friends from her teaching days had many laughs celebrating each other and called themselves the birthday girls. After retirement, she and Ted spent several years traveling the country in their RV, meeting lifelong friends at their various stops.  Once in Griffin, Lynn quickly met a group of ladies who became close friends.  They affectionately called themselves “The Back Porch Girls.”  When Ted passed, Lynn moved to The Glen at Lake Oconee, where she again quickly made many new friends in her short time there.  It was her greatest joy to keep in touch with all these friends and spend time visiting with her grandchildren in Griffin and Jacksonville.

Survivors include her children, Michael H. Spencer (wife, Christina), Sarah S. Meeks (husband, Ryan); Stepchildren, Patti A. Spencer, Edwin H. Spencer, III (Teddy), Carolyn J. Drumm;  sister, Brenda Lancaster; grandchildren, Bowen W. Meeks (Bo), Edwin H. Spencer, IV (Harrison), Taylor C. Spencer; nieces and nephews, Drew Lancaster, Lindsey Hamilton, and the youngest, Zack Lancaster, who took great care of her while at the Glen.

A family gathering will held at a later date.
