Melissa Rice Duran-Hernandez, age 34, of Griffin, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022.

Melissa was born in Griffin on July 2, 1987. She is preceded in death by her parents, William N. Rice, Jr. and Toni C. Presley; grandmothers, Anne R. Rice and Peggy Lummus. Melissa loved her fur babies and going to the beach.

Survivors include her husband, Jose A. Duran-Hernandez; siblings, Michelle Wilson (Colby), Billy Rice (Karen), Christopher West and Michael Presley; step-son Anthony Duran; several nieces and nephews, Destiny Rice, Madison Wilson, Aidan Wilson, Kadin Wilson, Dakota Rice, Kaleb Rice, Ah’merie West, Majesty West and Raylan Presley; grandfather, William N. Rice, Sr.

Visitation for Melissa will be Friday, July 1, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a celebration of life will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel with Reverend Wayne Rickard officiating.
