Melvin Ricky “Rick” Barron, Sr., age 62, of Griffin passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 at home.
Rick was born May 2, 1959 in Donalsonville, Georgia. His father Leroy Barron preceded him in death. He was the owner and operator of Spalding Recycling. Rick was a loving father and grandfather.
Survivors include his children, Melvin “Ricky” Barron, Jr and Jessica Ann Woodruff; mother, Vera Mae Love Barron, grandchildren, Ricky Mayfield, Arianna Mayfield and Hannah Woodruff; sister, Jena Brookins; aunt and uncle, Pat and Gene Hussey; nieces and nephews, Kimberly Moore, Reggie Lunsford and Lee Davis.
A visitation will be Wednesday, September 16, 2021 from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 3:30 pm in the chapel of Conner-Westbury. Pastor Gene Luke will officiate. Interment will follow at Moody Memorial Gardens
