Merle Deloris Smith, age 80, Griffin, Georgia passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Brightmoor Hospice.

Merle was a lifelong resident of Griffin, born on September 6, 1938. She is preceded in death by her father, Edgar Bridges; mother, Syrell Pelt; step-father, Jesse Pelt; sister, Hilda Carpenter and special friend, Charles Wilson.

She is survived by son, Wayne (Theresa) Brooks; daughters, Cindy (John) Stonica, Pam (Donnie) Hudgins; grandchildren, Tim and Julia Alford, Jared Stonica, Mandy and Sean Farlow, Jennifer and Donnie Pittman, Jennifer Jones, Heather and Derrick Walker, Stephanie and Travis Foster;12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren; brother, Billy (Lisa) Bridges.

A visitation will be on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow in the chapel. Pastor Jeff Shelton will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens.
