Michael W. Tate, age 72 of Griffin passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital.

Michael was born in Griffin, Georgia on May 15, 1949. His parents, J.W. Tate and Allie Mae Tate preceded him in death.  Michael was married for 53 years to the love of his life, Evelyn Hudgins Tate.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and attended Griffin First Assembly.  He was an avid movie buff and reader. 

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Tate; children, Shannon Tate, Alec Tate and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Hamilton Tate and wife, Cheyenne, Tate Custer, Harrison Tate, Ethan Tate, Michaela Custer; great grandson, Lincoln Tate; brother, Keith Tate; bonus family, Annjanette Sizemore, James Kent, Tim Stamey; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins.

A memorial service for Michael will be Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home officiated by Scott and Jennifer Creswell.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Kingdom Builders Missions at Griffin First.
