Nelda Harden Gaddy, age 90, of Griffin Georgia, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020, at Eternal Hope Hospice.
Nelda was born in Griffin, Georgia, on May 28, 1930, and attended Searcy Memorial United Methodist Church. She had a passion for traveling and cherished her trips to Hawaii, Nashville, and New Orleans. Nelda retired from Dundee Mills in Griffin, GA, where she was the first female weave instructor.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Tom Harden and Katherine Murphy Harden; first husband Morris English, 2nd husband Earnest Elmer Gaddy Jr., companion Kenneth Lindler; sisters, Tommie Lou Bates, Faye Rodgers, Ann Strickland; son-in-law, Durwood Ridgeway.
Nelda is survived by her daughters, Peggy English Ridgeway, Pamela English Cousson (Ernest); grandchildren, Douglas Ridgeway (Kathy), Michelle Boggus (Tony), Brandie Kilcrease (Michael), Michael Ridgeway (Rebekah), Jeremy Cousson, Joshua Ridgeway( Stephanie); brothers, Cato Harden (Shirley), Earl Harden ( Marilyn); 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews along with a special son Oscar Cash and two special sisters Lillie Goodrum and Annette Touchstone.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2020, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be on Friday, July 24, 2020, at 11:00 am in the chapel of Conner-Westbury funeral home. Reverend Gene Walton will officiate.
