Nellie M. Brown Pitts, age 88 of Griffin, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at Wellstar Spalding Hospital.

She was born February 17, 1933 in Griffin, Georgia. Her parents John Wesley Brown and Cassaliner Vinson Brown; her husband, James Weyman Pitts and her son, Danny Pitts preceded her in death.

She was a member of the local bowling league and Oak Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Henry Miller; son and daughter-in-law, David and Robin Pitts; grandchildren, Peyton and Margie Miller, Josh and Katie Pitts, Abby and Brice Martin, Alisha Pitts, Elyse and Jeff Shaw; great grandchildren, Andrew Miller, Miranda Miller, Sarah Martin, Leah Martin, Meagan Shaw, Madison Cooley, Tatum Pitts, Asher Pitts, nieces; Pam Berry, Joan McLeroy and Janet McDaniel.
 
Visitation will be Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Westwood Gardens. Pastor John Nance will officiate.
