Norma Jean Whitaker

Mrs. Norma Jean Whitaker, age 85, of Macon passed away, Friday, September 11, 2020 at Navicent Health.

Mrs. Whitaker was born in Griffin, Georgia on August 16, 1935. She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer Blackmon and Lucille Fox Blackmon; siblings, James Blackmon, Lamar Blackmon, Alton Blackmon, and Ruth Conkle. Mrs. Whitaker was a member of Devotie Baptist Church and attended Mikado Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia. She was an avid reader and an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed dancing and celebrating a good time with friends and family. She also loved to spoil her two little dogs, Sophie and Susie Q.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Whitaker; children, Bobbye Jean Moye and husband, Eric, Lisa Henderson and husband, Danny; step-daughter, Amy Ellison and husband, Chuck; grandchildren, Kristin Moye, Jennifer Moye, Chase Hopper, Lauren Hall, Taylor Hopper; great grandchildren, Kenzie Hall and Aliana Moye; nieces and nephews and their spouses, Don Conkle, Penny and Tom DeMarco, Terry and Cheryl Conkle, Wanda and George Lambert, Larry Blackmon, Lanier and Scott Blackmon; and several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Norma Jean Whitaker will be Sunday, September 13, 2020, from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. There will be a private service at a later date.
