Owen Douglas (Sam) Snow, age 83, of Griffin, passed away on Monday, June 18 at Brightmoor Nursing Center.
Mr. Snow was born on August 10, 1934 in Locust Grove, GA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Clark Snow and Martha Jane Snow, his brother, Oscar Clark Snow, Jr. He married his wife of 61 years, Patricia, in 1957, they had two daughters, Robin and Valerie. He served in the United States Army from 1957-1959. He worked for Otis Elevator Company for 20 years before starting his own businesses in Griffin. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church where he enjoyed being a part of the Senior Adult Ministry. He dedicated his life to his family and enjoyed traveling, landscaping, and making people laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Baker Snow; daughters, Robin Scoggins and husband, John; Valerie Colwell and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Ashley Patton and husband, Brad; Dustin Scoggins; Evan Dickens and wife, Emily; Ashley Stallings and husband, Nick; great-grandchildren, Kendall, Camryn, Chandler, and Kate Patton; Avery and Aiden Stallings; sister, Betty Jane Snow; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 21 at 11:00 am at Westwood Gardens Cemetery in Griffin. Reverend John Nance and Chris Thompson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oak Hill Baptist Church in Mr. Snow’s memory.
