Peggy Turner, “the puzzle lady of Brightmoor,” passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Brightmoor Hospice. She was a life-long resident of Griffin. She and her twin brother, Jerry were born on January 30, 1941.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, T.W. “Littleman” Turner and Addie Mae Crane Turner, sisters and brothers-in-law, Vivian and James Reeves of McDonough, Claudette and Chafin Smith of Forsyth, James and Charlotte Turner of Jefferson, Merie English of Griffin, and Jean Turner of Griffin.

She is survived by her twin brother, Jerry G. Turner and brother-in-law, M.T. (Terrell) English, both of Griffin. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews in Georgia, Tennessee and Florida.

Peggy retired in 1997 from the State of Georgia after 30 years of service. One of her favorite hobbies was crocheting. She crocheted hundreds of crosses that were sent to military personnel all over the world. After suffering a stroke several years ago, she became a resident of Brightmoor. She was a friend to everyone there, residents and staff.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Dale Fuller will officiate. Interment will be in the Old Section of Oak Hill Cemetery.
