My heart shattered when I heard the news. Peggy - Where do I even begin? You weren't my aunt by blood, but you were my aunt by love. You came into my life at the age of 2, and I don't have a single memory without you in it. From "elated" to "D.O.G", from thunderstorms to sweet pickles, from beach trips and holidays, from lake days to "the eagle"...the list goes on and on. I never thought cancer would take you. Especially because you beat it before. This is so sudden and my heart is in shock. I just wish I had one more day to tell you I miss you, to tell you I'm sorry I haven't called, to hear your voice and laugh one more time. You were one hell of a woman! Funny, sarcastic, blunt, foul mouthed, and strong willed. I will miss you every single day. Until we meet again. Bob - my heart is with you.

My heart is heavy this week. My best friend of almost 30 years has lost her battle with cancer. Just a few days ago, she was feeling good & having Thanksgiving dinner with some friends from their neighborhood in Georgia. Now, just a few short days later, cancer has taken this vibrant lady. Peggy was like a sister to me & like an Aunt to my girls. We share so many memories of beach trips, Holidays, and just spending time together through laughter & tears. Even after she retired to Georgia, we were always just a phone call away. It is just so hard to believe that in the blink of an eye, she is gone. She was never one to pull punches & quick to speak her mind, but also very loving & loyal to her friends & family. Rest In Peace, dear Peggy. You will always be loved & will always be in our hearts.
